Cotton Candy!

Alright.... for anyone looking to serve a Mission I'm just warning you now… It is hard!!!! Hahaha
And probably the most tired you'll ever be in your life! But I can also promise you it will be the most rewarding thing you will ever do in your life! There are so many awesome people we are teaching... and they are growing closer to Christ, and it is so amazing to see!!

This week I have been reading from the a book of Mosiah in the Book of Mormon. King a Benjamin is a boss!  I love him a lot.  In his address to the people he leads by example.  He serves his fellow man and he doesn't expect anything in return.  Awesome!  How can we ever repay the debt we owe to the Savior?  He paid a debt He did not owe to free us from a debt we can never pay.  Because of Him we will live forever.  Because of His infinite Atonement, our sins can be swept away, allowing us to experience the greatest of all the gifts of God: Eternal life

An act of faith...being diligently bold!  I have tried to exercise my faith this week by being diligently Bold!  And my oh my has it been successful.  I use my over zealous personality and won't take no for an answer haha.  Sometimes it doesn't always work out...but I have seen the blessings come from not being "afraid" to testify of Christ.  But who I have really loved lately is Abinadi!  He says so many things to the wicked King Noah that get you thinking.  Some of my favorites have been....

" he have not applied your hearts to understanding " Mosiah 12:27
"Do not walk in the desires of our own hearts." Mosiah 10:11
"Salvation doth not come by the law alone." Mosiah 13:28
"I am unworthy to Glory in myself!"Mosiah 23:11
"They Should Impart of Their Substance of Their Own Free Will” Mosiah 18:28

I invite you to humble yourself and to pick one of the above scriptures and study it this week. How does it apply to your life? How will this help me and my family grow closer to Christ?

Some “are compelled to be humble … for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh repentance” (Alma 32:13), and “blessed are they who humble themselves without being compelled to be humble” (verse 16). Humble ourselves because we want to. Not because we are compelled to. Something I have greatly learned this week.

We are continuing to teach the awesome family we met last week. And they continue to grow closer to baptism and entering into that covenant.  I'm excited to see where time, effort, and study takes them.  We are working with the Water family and the Miller family and the Ellington family. We have been blessed with teaching families who both parents are wanting or have a desire to learn more about the gospel as well as their children. I swear this never happens!  I am so blessed to be in Reynoldsburg serving with sister Hopkins. Life. Is. Great. And God is good.

I love being a Sister Missionary! Hope all is well!

A Cup of Sunshine

This week has been truly amazing!!! It was so sunny and warm this
week- highs 60s and lots of Miracles happened this week! I am so
grateful to be a missionary!

So first of all, my new companion Sister Hopkins, suggested us fasting
on Friday and Saturday to find those who are ready to receive the
Gospel. We all know how much I love food and how hard regular Fast
Sundays are for me...but I decided to put my faith in the Lord and
Fasted all weekend! And you know what happened!? We got 4 people on date
to be baptized!!!!!!! A family!!! We had been praying to find a family
that is ready!!

So on Friday right after we finished our Fasting Prayer we knocked on
a door that we had previously knocked before. Previously when we
knocked A man named Danny answered and we gave him a pass along card
and explained our purpose as missionaries. When we came back on Friday,
his wife, Becca answered. She immediately asked us, "are you the
Sisters that spoke with my husband?" We told her yes! She then
instantly invited us in!! She had us sit at the table with her, Danny
and their 9 year old Daughter Emma!! I love the Miller family! We
taught them the restoration!  It was so spiritual and powerful! We
then extended baptism and they are going to be baptized! Crazy! We
just hope that Sister Hopkins will be able to see them baptized before
she has to go home next month...

Speaking of going home.... my last companion, Sister Clark went home
this morning!! I was so sad when I found out. She has to go home
because of stomach problems she has had over the last 2 months. It was
tough being companions only because she couldn't go out and work, and
she had such a huge desire to work. I know that everything happens for
a reason, and God will take care of her. It's all about walking in
faith.

Something I have learned on my mission is that true faith must be in
Jesus Christ, and not measured on the outcome! Knowing that has taught
me to submit and yield myself unto God.

I was reading Mosiah in the Book of Mormon this week, and I am so
fascinated by King Benjamin's address to the people of Zarahemla.
Service! My life's mission is to serve others.
"Conversion means consecrating your life to caring for and serving
others who need your help and sharing your gifts and blessings…"
-Robert J. Whetten

The service we render to others can be used to measure the depth of
our personal conversion. Every selfless and kind act the tube
virtuality. God will use us to bless others. Mosiah 2: 17. Serving
others is vital to our spiritual conversion.

Take some time this week to serve someone else. Whether that be your
children, parents, a friend etc. I know that as we do so we will come
closer to God!

Brussels Sprouts and Broccoli

"Throughout the Book of Mormon, we read of the promise made by the Lord that
“Inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandment ye shall prosper in the land”
and the warning that,
“and inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence.”
Sister Daines and I have enjoyed finding this promise repeated time and time again.  We have also noticed when that promise has been fulfilled, such as in 2 Nephi 5:20 when the Lamanites were cut off from the presence of the Lord – including losing access to - prophecy, scriptures and the temple. There are many instances where the people of Nephi were blessed with riches and other material blessings because of their obedience.  Showing that the Lord does keep his promises. But it is also important to notice when the Lord keeps his promise in ways that we might not easily recognize, because it is not how we expected.  A good example of this is found in our reading this morning in Omni 1:12 where the Lord warned king Mosiah to flee out of the land of Nephi. How can leaving your home and much of your worldly goods be a fulfillment of a promised blessing to prosper? They were prospered because they were protected from their enemies and continued to live.  Mormon teaches this principle in Alma 18:15Look for ways in which the Lord is keeping His promises to you as you continue to diligently strive to serve and obey His commandments with exactness.  If you look, you will see the hand of the Lord in your lives and in this work." -President Daines

I really love this insight and I thought that it would be helpful and applicable for people to read. Sometimes following The Lords Commandments can be really challenging and hard… But the promised blessings are worth it. My mission president is awesome! He is very spiritually in tune and you can tell he loves us missionaries very much. I i'm grateful for his insights and direction for us missionaries.

I have been transferred to Reynoldsburg! I live in Pataskala and serve partially in the town of Pataskala, but technically the area is Reynoldsburg. It is a huge area and very different from Beavercreek! But I love it here already! My companions name is Sister Hopkins! She is awesome! She is very spiritual and she has an enormous love for the people she serves. I love Being her companion. She is already taught me so much. Unfortunately, she leaves in six weeks. She is almost done with her mission! And it makes me so sad to think about. But I am excited for her to move on into the unknown world. She is going to be one of those awkward missionaries though .... hahahaha

I love being a missionary and I love serving. There is no greater work I could be doing. Thank you all for your love and support, I hope all is well!

Dunked!

I am filled with so much joy! Dahni Bin and Sakonni Phann were baptized on Saturday, and confirmed on Sunday! They are amazing, and their testimonies help strengthen mine! I have loved getting to know them and seeing them change over the last few months. It helps motivate me to work harder and find more people who are ready to hear the Gospel and who are ready to implement the gospel in their lives. We went with them to the Temple and I have never been more excited. It was such a spiritual and inspiring experience. I am so very grateful for the opportunity to be able to teach them, and I feel tremendously blessed to be able to share these precious memories with them!

Missionary work is hard, but nothing easy was ever worth it. The souls waiting to hear about the Gospel are worth it. Thank you for everyone's love and support!! This week has truly been an amazing blessing.

My scripture of the week:
1 Nephi 15:8:
"And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord?"
In this verse, Nephi is talking to his older brothers, Laman and Lemuel. They ask him why they are not able to understand the words of their father, Lehi. Nephi asks them if they have presented their problems to the Lord in prayer. Sometimes we get caught up in our problems and concerns and we forget to ask for help and guidance from the one who knows all and loves us the most. God is always there for us, and will continue to be there for us. As you pray, pray in faith and seek and ask for guidance in your life. Tonight, take the time to say a prayer and talk with God. He is always listening and wants to help you.

Fish are Friends not Food!

Happy New Year!!!🎆🎉🎉🎉🎊

2017! It's gonna be a good one! Mainly because I had Fish head for
dinner on New Years Eve haha. Attached picture below.

This week was crazy! Sister Clark and I were both really sick Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday. It was rough! But a lot of the members took
care of us by bringing us medicine and giving us blessings. Let me
tell you, I am so grateful for the Priesthood and worthy men who hold
that power! This church is the one and only true church because of
that power. The same power and authority Jesus Christ held when he was
on the earth.

I have survived 4 holidays on the mission:) it has been a wonderful
experience! I love being able to bring others closer to Christ and
God. I also love taking this time to come closer to Christ myself. I
love progressing and learning more about myself. I would recommend
going on a mission;)

2 Nephi 28:30. "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto
the children of
men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a
little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend
an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that
receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have
enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have."
There will never be a time when we stop learning and growing. God
loves us so much he continues to give us tools to help us better our
lives and grow closer to him a little bit at a time, to not overwhelm
us but to bless us with the opportunity to learn more and progress
each day. Do all you can to keep learning and keep progressing and you
will be blessed! The Lord is obligated to fulfill his promised
blessings to us, if we follow his commandments. Grace by our works:)

Love you all!!
